Project implementation

European Center for Disaster Medicine - San Marino :

The aim of this project is to develop and promote both traditional (leaflet) and electronic (Smartphone App) tools aiming at improving migrants’ quality of life, in order for them to:

  • Have access to the primary care provided by nurses and physicians

  • Learn about the social and healthcare resources available in the host countries

  • Take the right actions and decisions in case of emergencies

  • Know how to face the main issues they may encounter

Most significant achievements

European Center for Disaster Medicine - San Marino :
  • A 12 pages brochure in English has been designed and implemented for circulation among countries participating to EUR-OPA. The objective of the brochure is to inform the International community about rationale, objectives, method and expected results of the project.

  • A dedicated website in English has been created. The domain name was selected, among available names by analysing the keywords able to optimise the results by search engines. https://www.migrantaid.eu/

  • Word-free tools aimed at improving migrants’ quality of life by providing them with simple instructions (essentially in cartoons) with information in two languages, English and Arabic, in order to cope with emergencies (medical emergencies and disasters).

  • A smartphone app (Android) has also been created. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.titanka.immigrant

  • Information about the app and the website by means of a dedicated online campaign and circulating leaflets have been disseminated in migrants’ hospitality centers (CARA) in Italy.
