Local Executive Power and Municipalities need concrete actions against the constantly growing natural disasters occurring in connection with climate changes. In fact, it is of great importance to raise public awareness since investigations of 2010 have shown that a majority of victims and losses are not the results of directly occurring emergency situations, but rather careless attitude of people to their life (settling in dangerous areas, inobservance of construction rules, disregard of necessary preventive measures, etc.)The global objective of this project was therefore to improve the management of emergency risk mitigation and prevention by giving priority to preventive measures provided for by legislation. To this end, ECMHT organised an international scientific-practical conference on “Risk management of emergency situations” in June.
