ECNTRM was established in 1996 to
implement the State scientific and technical policy, study and resolve
scientific and technical issues as well as to provide information, materials
and training for civil defence and protecting the population and the
environment from natural and manmade emergency situations.
ECNTRM is responsible for:
- Carrying out scientific, design and experimental projects;
- Creation and introduction of new technologies in
emergency risk management, including the development of legal regulations in
the sphere of population and territories protection from natural and manmade
threats;
- Development of international standards in the people and
territories protection from the natural and manmade threats;
- Publication and promotion of scientific achievements and advanced
experience in risk management, received in the framework of the ECNTRM work;
- Participation in international meetings, exhibitions,
symposiums.
Among the research work for EUR-OPA is the following:
- Methodology
for creation of the complex emergency alert system;
- Methodology
for distance automatic on-line monitoring of buildings and engineering
construction frames;
- Plans
of action for decision makers for response to emergency situations of natural and
man-made character;
- Plans
of action for decision makers for the prevention of emergency situations of
natural and man-made character;
- New global challenges
as a result of increased development of the Arctic territory.
